Stupid passion stirring

The latest rows of allegations against Infy chairman Narayan Murthy by ex Prime Minister H.D. Devegowda are outrageous. The Karnataka Govt. should never forget that it’s because of IT companies like Infy that Bangalore is able to attract international attention. Most of the IT multinationals prefer going to Bangalore than any other city in India though the infrastructure provided at places like Hyderabad are much better. The only reason is that there is a pool of IT potential in Bangalore and the city has been a leader in IT from the very beginning. But sadly this pace of growth is not matched by the government. Infosys was the first major IT Company to start its development center in Mysore Karnataka. This will help in the development of the city because not only are the software professionals benefited from such a project but the allied industries and the locals also gain a lot. This move by the company was reciprocated by the Govt. by halting the ambitious Bangalore – Mysore expressway project. If completed this project could have invited a lot of companies in Mysore because of its connectivity with Bangalore, good weather and low prices. But it seems that Mr. Devegowda fails to foresee the good that it will do to Karnataka and India as a whole.
